உயிர் ஏழுத்துக்களின் எட்டாவது எழுத்து “ஏ” பதினெட்டு மெய் ஏழுததுக்களுடன் சேர்ந்து பதினெட்டு உயிர்மெய் ஏழுத்துக்களை உருவாக்குகிறது. “ஏ”வின் ஒலியைத் தழுவி வரும். இந்த உயிர்மெய் ஏழுத்துக்கள் இரண்டு மாத்திரைகள் கொண்டு ஒலிக்கும் நெடிலாக  மாறுகின்றன.

The eighth Tamil vowel “ஏ” (ay) joins with the consonants to create the eighteen uyirmey letters. They adapt the sound of the vowel“ஏ” (ay) and have a longer sound duration of two seconds.

The consonants will have the symbol called double horn preceding them indicating longer sound duration. It applies to all the cosonants.
