உயிர் எழுத்துக்களின் பத்தாவது எழுத்து “ஒ” பதினெட்டு மெய் எழுததுக்களுடன் சேர்ந்து பதினெட்டு உயிர்மெய் ஒழுத்துக்களை உருவாக்குகிறது. “ஒ”வின் ஒலியைத் தழுவி வரும். இந்த உயிர்மெய் எழுத்துக்கள் ஒரு மாத்திரைக் கொண்டு ஒலிக்கும் குறில்களாக மாறுகின்றன.

The tenth Tamil vowel “ஒ” (oh) joins with the consonants to create the eighteen uyirmey letters. They adapt the sound of the vowel“ஒ” (oh) and have a shorter sound duration of one second.
