ஒலியளவு

தமிழில் ஒலி அளவு மாத்திரை என்று அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.

நாம் கண் இமைக்கும் நேரமோ கை நொடிக்கும் நேரமோ மாத்திரை என்று அழைக்கப் படுகிறது.அதாவது ஒரு வினாடி நேரத்தை மாத்திரை என்று அழைக்கின்றனர்.

ஒவ்வோரு தமிழ் எழுத்தும் அது ஒலிக்கும் கால அளவைக் கொ்ண்டு மூன்று வகையாகப் பிரிக்கப்படுகிறது.

தமிழ் உயிர் எழுத்துக்கள்  தங்கள் ஒலியை அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்டு குறில் நெடில் என்றுப் பிரிக்கப்படுகிறது. ஒரு மாத்திரை அல்லது ஒரு வினாடி அளவே ஒலிக்கும் எழுத்துக்கள் குறில் என்று அழைக்கப்படும். அ,இ,உ,எ,ஒ  என்ற எழுத்துக்கள்  ஒலிக்க ஒரு வினாடி நேரமே ஆகும் அதனால் அவை குறில் எழுத்துக்கள் ஆகும்படத்தில் இவை பச்சை நிறத்தில் குறிக்கப் பட்டுள்ளன..

இரண்டு மாத்திரைகள் அல்லது இரண்டு வினாடிகள் நேரம் ஒலிக்கும் எழுத்துக்கள் நெடில் ஆகும்.ஆ,ஈ,ஊ, ஐ,ஓ,ஓள ஆகியவை  ஒலிக்க இரண்டு வினாடிகள் தேவை அதனால் அவை நெடில் எழுத்துக்கள் ஆகும். படத்தில் இவை நீல நிறத்தில் குறிக்கப் பட்டுள்ளன.

ஆய்த எழுத்தை நாம் உயிரெழுத்துக்களோடு சேர்ந்தே படிக்கிறோம். கற்றுக் கொள்கிறோம்.

In Tamil language the duration of the sound in a letter helps us categorize the letters. The word”mathirai” refers to the measurement of a sound. This word refers to the time it takes to blink the eye  or snap a finger,which usually takes one second.

 The twelve vowels can be divided based on the duration of their sound too, The short sound vowels are called kurril. The duration of the syllable is one second.அ, இ, உ, எ, ஒ are kurril. The long sounding letters are called nedil. The duration of the syllable is two seconds.ஆ, ஈ, ஊ, ஏ,ஐ, ஓ, ஒள are neddill because the duration of their sound is two seconds.

The letter Aydham  always accompanies  the tamil vowels we learn the vowel letters.
